The Longliner 16 has been in production for over 30 years. Well over 3000 of his classic have been built and it has become the first choice of serious fisherman who appreciate the great sea keeping and long keel which enable Longliner’s to drift comfortably and lie well at anchor. There are chunky bilge keels to aid stability and beach launching and a stiff but light hull means low horsepower engines, low capacity trailers and low fuel consumption—adding to low cost boating without sacrificing seaworthiness SPECIFICATION Construction The hull and deck are hand laminated in GRP (glass reinforced plastic). A solid laminate is moulded from polyester resin and chopped strand matt (CSM - randomly orientated strands of glass giving strength in all directions). The hull and deck are wet bonded together to form a strong, rigid structure. Forward box seat and aft seats are foam-filled to ensure buoyancy should the boat become swamped. The floor is coated in non-slip gel coat. Hull and deck fittings The Longliner 16 is fitted with; stainless steel winch eye; galvanised keel band; galvanised rowlocks plates and rowlocks; anodised mooring cleats; anodised bow roller and centre thwart. The transom is protected by outboard mounting plates and alloy capping pieces, the gunwhale protected by a tough all-round PVC fender.
